Message: Re: 850 GSM VS PCS 1900 (Jun 07 2004 23:39 GMT) - >There's a myth that >800/850 penetrates buildings better than 1900 systems, but it's just >that a myth. Damn!!! Joe, don't make statements that indicate that you know absolutly NOTHING about what you are making the statement about. With all things equal, the lower the frequency the better the penetration of buildings, cars, trees etc..... All things that we are concerned about with cellular service. |

Four Kinds of People (Jun 07 2004 23:38 GMT) - It's nice to have friends that know what your interested in. Santiago Gala recalled this delightful paper written in 1990 and then revised in 1996 about the different kinds of people who play in MUDs (i.e. multi-user online games, usually text based, often with an element of programming). I found this entire paper just one long wonderful giggle fest! |

Bush Is A Dangerous Religious Zealot (Jun 07 2004 23:38 GMT) - The following statement reflects my sentiments exactly. Heathens, atheists and other free-thinkers beware: four more years of this and I'm sure that the President will claim the authority to burn witches: and to him, we're all witches! Also, if you... |

Hebrew .Net weblogs now available! (Jun 07 2004 23:36 GMT) - One big concern I hear from people I meet is that they really want to have a weblog, but they want to write in hebrew, not in english, simply because they can express themselves better in their mother tounge. That was a problem. Lots of the blogging community in Israel either resides in non-technical sites, and whatever blogging infrastracture setup for public use is usually without RSS support. Well, fear no more. |

Today the big discussion is ... (Jun 07 2004 23:35 GMT) - Today the big discussion is about the date of the referendum, perhaps no one has noticed that officially the referendum hasn't been announced by the CNE. The official meeting to decide whether or not there is a referendum is tomorrow. The opposition wants a August 8 date or earlier, while the officialist want it on August 15. Why is a week so important? The second date pushes things closer to the magic August 19 date, August 15 is also the middle of vacation time. |
