Week Eighteen Wrapup (Jun 08 2004 20:59 GMT) - If I had to write this yesterday, this would be a far grimmer recap. As it is, it's not particularly pretty, but I didn't finish the week in the red. |

OT Download Festival 2004 (Jun 08 2004 20:59 GMT) - I went to Download 2004 at Castle Donnington over the weekend. Its a 2 day festival for metal music Who did I see Linkin Park - very good and they covered NIN's wish which was an unexpected bonus. Sum 41 - Probably one of the best bands i have ever seen live - as good as they were at Reading 2002. |

SQL Server Tools (Jun 08 2004 20:59 GMT) - I must admit I am firmly lodged in the Query Analyser camp - in fact I think its probably the only tool I use for actual development at the moment. Its got lots of little ueful features like templates and the inbuilt execution plan viewer is a godsend! I know alot of people use the visual query editing bit of SQL Enterprise Manager but I have had to clear up quite a few messes that it has been used to produce by people doing querying on the quick and hence am not the biggest fan. Also it doesn't support queries of any real complexity (unions, subqueries etc) which is a pain! For database recreation I |

Welcome to America (Jun 08 2004 20:58 GMT) - Just another wonderful thing from the Bush administration. "When writer Elena Lappin flew to LA, she dreamed of a sunkissed, laid-back city. But that was before airport officials decided to detain her as a threat to security ..." Guardian Unlimited... |

Laughing Squid 8.5 (Jun 08 2004 20:58 GMT) - Happy Birthday Laughing Squid!. Our dear friends at Laughing Squid, San Francisco's clearinghouse for avant-garde art and creative madness, are celebrating their ninth birthday this November. They couldn't wait to celebrate though, so they're throwing the Laughing Squid 8 1/2 Year Anniversary Show this Saturday, June 12. The line-up of performers is truly insane, from Subgenius savant Dr. Hal Robins to heavy metal bagpipe virtuoso The Madpiper to New York "sound acrobat" ZeroBoy. |

AirWater Extractor (Jun 08 2004 20:57 GMT) - With operating costs in the pennies-per-gallon range, the AirWater corporation is hoping that its air water units will be used in areas where pumping fresh, potable water from the ground can be difficult or impossible. With various units available, in... |

Republican delegates shun Tony winners (Jun 08 2004 20:57 GMT) - As if Republicans would ever be culturally adventurous. With thousands of Republicans set to descend on the Big Apple to nominate President George W Bush for re-election, convention organisers decided to treat delegates to the glitz of Broadway before they... |

Axel vs Weight (Jun 08 2004 20:57 GMT) - Greetings, I'm in the process like many of you building my Teardrop. I decided to build the 4x10 version first. I have plans to build a second bigger one. The first one is to learn how things work, and what I like dont like etc.. Over the weekend I did weld my frame together using 3/16" c steel. |

Is This Dodgeball Site Legit? (Jun 08 2004 20:57 GMT) - I've got no idea how I found this one, but here's the fine website of the National Dodgeball Association. I figured it was just another nutty, fringe sport site (remember speed stacks?). Then, while watching the admirably dreadful The Day After Tomorrow (global warming apparently takes a couple of days), I watched a trailer for the new Ben Stiller vehicle, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. |
