Message: Re: "Cingular Wireless is First to the EDGE" (Jun 08 2004 23:19 GMT) - That's why I jumped at Flyin J's offer of unlimited wi-fi for 365 days @ $99.95. Obviously I drive an 18 wheeler if you recognize Flyin J. This includes high-speed ethernet inside the truckstop if there is no wireless at that location. Their wireless is set-up inside and outside for the parking lot. |

GNOMEREPORT: Power To The Puppies! (Jun 08 2004 23:19 GMT) - Woof, woof! My name is Pixie, and I'm sitting next to my brother, Wicket. I'm the one with the lighter face (maroon strap), and he's got all the curls (black strap). We were born on April 1st this year, so we're only a few months old today. My mother was half Lhasa Apso, half Shih Tzu - and my father was a poodle. |

SYSTEM: How To Capture Your Screen (Jun 08 2004 23:19 GMT) - By Diana Huggins Sometimes it can be difficult explaining to another person how to complete a task on their computer, what to click within a certain dialog box, a specific error message that is appearing, and so on. In some cases it may just be simpler to take a snapshot of your desktop or a specific dialog box and e-mail it. It's a fairly straightforward, simple process. All it takes are a few keystrokes and an imaging program and you're all set. So let's take a look at the keystrokes, first. |

FEEDBACK: Apologies To The Newspaper Association Of America, But... (Jun 08 2004 23:19 GMT) - Ed Leighton-Dick of Gazette Communications in Cedar Rapids, IA writes: Chris, You need to know that the review (and promotion) of BugMeNot.com in yesterday's (June 1st) Windows Fanatics newsletter could have some serious repercussions. The newspapers that are listed on that site will not be happy to hear about it, and the news of your review is already circulating on the Newspaper Association of America's message boards. I, personally, am disappointed that Lockergnome would promote such a site. |

FAMILY FIRST: SafetySurf.com (Jun 08 2004 23:19 GMT) - From Family First Here's a must-visit for parents. Pornography, hate speech, and violence are rampant on the Web. While Microsoft has built various blocking tools into Internet Explorer, it is a very incomplete solution. This has opened the doorway for developers to build a better mousetrap so that parents may protect their children online. Today's site helps parents achieve their goals. |

The Rock on the Sidewalk (Jun 08 2004 23:18 GMT) - I saw a rock on the sidewalkAs I walked to the storeOne Saturday morning.I kicked it up and downThe narrow, beaten path,As I began to get caught upIn my own thoughts.By the time I reached my destination,I had nearly forgotten about it.I bent down to retrieve it,Hoping to take it back to my home. But, before it reached my fingertips,It rolled down into the sewer, Never to be seen again. |

An Apple so rotten, it's ... (Jun 08 2004 23:18 GMT) - An Apple so rotten, it's well past cider. An update on the Apple iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program saga: I finally received my refund request letter on April 3rd, and sent it right back in. The letter said to expect my refund in four to six weeks. As of today, it's been two months, and I have yet to see a single red cent from the company. |

Hentzenwerke Publishing switches to Linux (Jun 08 2004 23:18 GMT) - "Combined with the lack of attention that Microsoft paid to my bread and butter, Visual FoxPro, the potential new market for developing custom software on Linux desktops spelled opportunity. That's the real reason I started moving to Linux. I like growing markets, not shrinking ones, and the VFP market had been contracting for years. At the same time, I figured it was going to be several years before demand started showing up, and those years would be the head start I needed to get up to sp |

Chi erano i sequestratori? (Jun 08 2004 23:17 GMT) - E' strano che le fonti ufficiali d'informazione non ci informino subito su chi erano i sequestratori visto che la liberazione è stata ottenuta da un blitz con appostamenti già tempo prima. |

The End Of The Last ... (Jun 08 2004 23:17 GMT) - The End Of The Last Best Hope. Joshua Micah Marshall, following the Wall Street Journal, reports that a Justice Department memorandum, planning strategies by which officials accused of torture should defend themselves, claims that the President of the United States has inherent authority to set aside laws. This is breathtaking. "That claim alone should stop everyone in their tracks and prompt a serious consideration of the safety of the American republic under this president. It is the very definition of a constitutional monarchy, let alone a constitutional republic, that the law is superior to the executive, not the other way around. |

Test Driven Development in Microsoft.NET (Jun 08 2004 23:17 GMT) - I wanted to give a brief review of the book Test Driven Development in Microsoft.NET by James Newkirk, et el I enjoyed this book and it appears to be one of those books that is a great reference book because it has many examples of using TDD in many different scenarios (Windows, Web). This book was especially useful for me because I had been using NUnit for some time now and it was a useful “how to” |

Blech (Jun 08 2004 23:16 GMT) - Well, I'm still feeling pretty much like ca-ca. The throat is still really sore, and now I'm all congested, too. I've slept almost all day, which is extremely unusual for me. I haven't eaten anything yet today, either, so I s'pose I should do that. Don't feel much like it, though. |
