GNOMEREPORT: Entrepreneurial Shuffleboard (Jun 10 2004 23:33 GMT) - I've been having a blast creating new resources (and optimizing them) for Lockergnome lately. It all starts with a simple concept, and then I begin looking for the tools to help make it happen. For instance, you've probably noticed the long "blue" link list we've placed in the sidebar (of our site and our newsletters). Those products (and their pricing) will fluctuate over time. What's a top selling this, that, or the other thing? |

SYSTEM: A Shortcut to Your Favorite Place (Jun 10 2004 23:33 GMT) - By Diana Huggins Mapping network drives are a popular way of quickly accessing network resources. They appear as drive letters in Windows Explorer and clicking on one connects you to the computer on the network hosting the resource. This is much easier than having to locate the resource using the My Network Places icon. So another trick you can use to quickly access network shares - other than mapping a drive - is to create a shortcut to them on your desktop. Any time you need access to the share, all you have to do is double click the shortcut to the share on your desktop. |

POLITICS: Live Blog From A Traveling Election Studio! (Jun 10 2004 23:33 GMT) - Canadians are in the midst of a federal election campaign, and longtime Canuck Gnomie Tod Maffin works for CBC (the country's public broadcaster - like NBC and NPR, but without the budgets). He's going to be traveling onboard the network's ElectionMobile and publishing a blog about the technology behind mounting this kind of traveling studio - does satellite-to-WiFi actually work? Can a TV station really broadcast live from a moving vehicle? How do you file a radio piece without the Internet? All that and videos and pictures, too. |
