Bypassing Browser Interface (Jun 11 2004 22:59 GMT) - After editing templates by opening and modifying the text files in the www.folder is there a way to "submit" them without having to go back into the browser and navigating to them either via prefs for home or folder for categories and then clicking "submit"??? In other words is there some script/command/verb to make these changes permanent? Similarily, after editing weblogdata in the root is there a script/command/verb to make those changes work ...without actually finding the story among Previous posts and reposting via browser? |

The weekend (Jun 11 2004 22:58 GMT) - I go up to Lake Win-some-lose-some-saki in New Hampshire tonight with a bunch of guy friends. They put on a yearly ritual of burping and farting contests, with some mosquito feeding exercises thrown in for the nature lovers, capped by a cold and wet pre-dawn expedition onto the lady of the lake with rods long enough to make most men jealous and hooks generally designed to catch and shred your boat-mates' clothing. I've left all of my fishing gear (most of which was given to me by fishing friends that felt sorry for me) on my boat; I don't particularly care for fishing, but my boys like it. Of course, their expectation of pulling fish in every two minutes is a bit unrealistic -- I'm not sure where they got the idea. |

And I Am Still Damn Proud To Be A Texan (Jun 11 2004 22:58 GMT) - AUSTIN -- Gov. Rick Perry has declared Friday an official day of mourning in remembrance of former President Reagan and has directed state agencies to shut down that day, except for skeleton crews. Perry ordered that flags on state buildings be flown at half-staff for 30 days. The governor encouraged Texans to pay their respects to Reagan's memory "through appropriate ceremonies in homes, businesses, public buildings, schools, places of worship or other suitable places for public expression of grief and remembrance." Perry called Reagan "a man of principle (who) changed the course of America and the world forever by reviving our economy, by renewing our national confidence and by tearing down barriers to freedom throughout the globe. |

If My Love Is Half Of Theirs I Am Truly Blessed (Jun 11 2004 22:58 GMT) - Ron and Nancy Reagan were in love, they were in love up until the moment he passed away. Theirs was a love that transcended everything. Over at Right Wing News, John mentions Nancy gazing up lovingly at Ron everytime you saw them, and looking back into petina coated memories it is a very true statement. Even in death, after not having even recognized Nancy for some time, Ron was able to show her one last time that he loved her: Daily News "At the last moment when his breathing told us this was it, he opened his eyes and looked straight at my mother. |

As We Bid Farewell (Jun 11 2004 22:58 GMT) - Dick Cheney - Captial Rotunda Mrs. Reagan, members of the president's family, colleagues, distinguished guests, members of the diplomatic corps, fellow citizens, knowing that this moment would come has not made it any easier to see the honor guard and flag draped before us and to begin America's farewell to President Ronald Reagan. He said goodbye to us in a letter that showed his great courage and love for America. Yet for his friends and his country, the parting comes only now. And in this national vigil of mourning, we show how much America loved this good man and how greatly we will miss him. |

Procurement Holiday (Jun 11 2004 22:57 GMT) - Dimmy Karras suggests that the Republicans changed their tune on the military budget in the late 90s, and that this diminishes Reagan's legacy. I don't agree. The Reagan buildup did, as D'Souza suggests, allow us to go on a procurement... |
