According to this "documentary", it was London DJs who first started playing House music and it was London where people... |

Army Unveils New Uniforms (Jun 15 2004 10:58 GMT) - The Army unveiled their new uniform, with a new camouflage sporting a green, tan, and gray mixture (based on a similar Marine Corps design) that is meant to work in all environments, from the concrete jungle to the forest jungle to the, uhm, sand jungle. Replacing many of the buttons with zippers and Velcro for easy access (including lots of new pockets for gear and gizmos), the new uniforms are looser and more able to integrate with the increasing amount of body armor being worn by soldiers in ... |

More on the 22 Megapixel Sinar Camera Back (Jun 15 2004 10:58 GMT) - Remember that 22-megapixel Sinar camera back from yesterday? Reader Jason Ozolins explains what makes peltier cooling on large CCDs so useful:I think you'll find that the Peltier cooler on the Sinar camera back is not used to dissipate lots of internally generated heat (typical "leet overcloxor" use), but to keep the CCD sensor cold, which increases the signal to noise ratio, and allows them to get that incredible 14 usable bits of resolution per colour component. ... Parent's Appreciation Day (Jun 15 2004 10:54 GMT) - Parent's Appreciation DaySo today is Parent's Appreciation Day in my son's class. Sounds nice, doesn't it? But here's the thing. His teacher sent out a notice two weeks ago that THURSDAY, not today TUESDAY, would be Parent's Appreciation Day. We got a paper notice -- not email -- that arrived with the homework last night, mentioning that the date had changed to this morning. |
