The Diplomats Finally Publish Their Statement (Jun 17 2004 15:57 GMT) - The Diplomats & Military Commanders for Change finally got around to publishing their open letter denouncing President Bush's sense of appropriate international relations, and calling for regime change in America. The 27 signatories have served this country since Harry Truman occupied 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. They know what they're talking about when it comes to foreign policy. Between this, the recent revelations that John Kerry's campaign is raising money at twice the rate of George WMD Bush, and Ron Reagan's unabashed criticism of Bush's mixing of religion and politics, it's starting to become clear that the tide of opinion, even among conservatives, might finally be turning. Regime change doesn't seem so far-fetched anymore. |

Begone filthy spam! (Jun 17 2004 15:57 GMT) - Doobie has again become deluged with spam, so I'm trying something new, and so far it seems to working better than anything else I've tried. This thing plus SpamAssassin (soon to be an Apache Software Foundation project) is keeping my mailbox free of crap. The program is called milter-sender. Right now it's happily blocking 10-15 messages per second for the 20 or so users of doobie.com. |

Submitted without comment. (Jun 17 2004 15:57 GMT) - Stateline, Nev. -- Even Courtney Love realized how ridiculous it was for her to be conducting wedding ceremonies in a Nevada casino for 20 lucky couples who won radio station contests. "This may be the dumbest thing I've ever done," she said. Continued at http://www. |

What's in my garden? (Jun 17 2004 15:57 GMT) - A number of people have been asking me about my gardens lately, so I thought I'd give everybody a run down on what I'm hoping to grow this year in San Francisco. Downstairs, on the sidewalk, there are four 3'x3' tree wells, each with a tree growing out of it. Last weekend, Denise and I planted petunia starts in all four wells, as well as laying some groundcover seed (sweet alyssum mostly), which should start to fill in by July. We're considering adding either Morning Glory or Black-eyed Susan Vines as well. These tree wells are on a very busy 4 lane one-way street that sees a lot of foot traffic. |
