JavaOne Rot (Jun 18 2004 13:59 GMT) - As ome questions for those attending JavaOne...If a well known develoepr magazine gives away paid subscritpions to one of its target audiences does that then invalaidate or validate the claim of top technology developer magazine? Before you answer I should remind you that in other print media Bill OReilly has used a similar tatic to get his books liste dinthe top ten book list of NY Times.Does EJB3.0 making JDK1. |

Acer Aspire 1714SMI, Chunky Monkey Desktop Replacement (Jun 18 2004 13:56 GMT) - I can't help but look at these giant desktop replacement laptops like the Acer Aspire 1714SMI and think what a bright future there is for LAN gamers. I'm going to Tribal-Wars East, a 500 person LAN party in Chantilly, Virginia, in July, and as I'm looking at LCD flat panels and other portable hardware to make the trip less harrowing, it's hard not to look at the 3.4GHz P4, 1GB of RAM, and nVidia GeForce FX Go5700 of the Acer machine and see not a too-large laptop, but an extremely portable gamin... |

Sharp Muramasa PC-CV50F Hands-On (Jun 18 2004 13:56 GMT) - SorobanGeeks has a short hands-on with the Sharp Muramasa, the ultra-portable notebook powered by the Transmeta Efficeon TM8600 at 1GHz. As while it runs strong and fast (for its class), they come away most impressed by its screen, describing it as extremely clear, but with pixels so small that it is hard to pick out individual ones -- in this case, that's a good thing. No PCMCIA, but CF and SD for upgrades, when needed. Lots of pictures (and gushing in French, if that's your thing) at Akihabara... |
