The Intel Centrino computer, measuring just 11in by 9in, was embedded into a longboard which was demonstrated during the event at Croyde Bay. The embedded Intel Centrino chip lets the surfboard communicate with a wireless access point on the beach. The company says the device allows riders check E-mail, browse Web sites. A solar-charging kit lets the device recharge in the sun, extending battery life. |

Военные учения пройдут под контролем Сергея Иванова (Jun 22 2004 03:54 GMT) - Сегодня начнется рабочая поездка министра обороны России Сергея Иванова на Дальний Восток, где он проконтролирует ход активной фазы оперативно-стратегических учений "Мобильность-2004". Сергей Иванов планирует побывать на мысе Клерка под Владивостоком для наблюдения за тактическими учениями и боевыми стрельбами морских пехотинцев Северного флота. По замыслу учений, морпехам предстоит десантироваться с использованием ресурсов Тихоокеанского флота на берег и уничтожить несколько бандгрупп террористов, которые захватили участок побережья. В рамках этих действия будет также отработано взаимодействие морских пехотинцев с другими войсками, которые их поддержат с моря, воздуха и суши. Как сообщили в Минобороны, в ходе учений "Мобильность-2004" отрабатываются задачи территориальной и гражданской обороны, локализации и уничтожения разведывательно-диверсионных и террористических групп. |
