(Jun 30 2004 04:59 GMT) - While I’ve not followed the progress of the Mars Rovers with the intensity of others on this forum, I have seen and read enough to draw some conclusions – right or wrong. First, let me say that I have seen nothing about the Red Planet that is particularly surprising to me. Mars being a “rocky” planet like Earth, it is logical to expect it to have a similar composition and history. Being smaller and farther from Sol, it is logical to expect it to cool faster, and to lose it’s atmosphere more readily. Earth has water” surface, atmospheric, and subterranean – whatever its origin – so Mars had/has water, from a similar source. |
