New Host - check banning (Aug 11 2004 23:43 GMT) - Banning should be done at the domain level, not the IP level, but this does sometime seem to be the case. You are right to use caution, but it may not be a problem. It's not the adult sites that are a problem, but the possibility of being in a "bad neighborhood" that would worry me. I would contact the hosting company and tell them your concern. I would ask them if they can verify that some or all of the sites are getting traffic from Google. |

Cre8asiteForums Celebrates its Two Year Anniversary (Aug 11 2004 23:42 GMT) - Bill, as often, has elloquently posted all I wanted to say myself. This forum has swallowed up an immense amount of my time over the past two years, especially since I was made an administrator - and I have no regrets about that at all. The camaraderie, the community, the chance to 'give back', and the interesting discusion are priceless. It is said that teaching is the most honorable profession, and whatever I can do here to teach or to mentor others is indeed an honour. Likewise, the opportunities to learn new aspects of usability, accessibility and design have been valuable and appreciated. |

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Aug 11 2004 23:42 GMT) - It is called IBS, or Irritable Bowl Syndrome, and it is so common that experts believe it may effect up to one in every five people. It is second only to the common cold in causes of lost work-time in this country. Fencing for bears not a current option in Jasper National Park (Aug 11 2004 23:42 GMT) - Parks Canada's proposal to build a fence around Lake Louise wouldn't have any implications on Jasper National Park policy if that idea became a reality. Jasper National Park is home mostly to black bears and doesn't have huge numbers of grizzlies - the type of bear that has been milling about the hamlet of Lake Louise near Banff. Negotiators attempt to avert strike in national parks (Aug 11 2004 23:42 GMT) - Visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of wildlife in Canada's national parks this weekend could instead be confronted with picket lines or other labour disruptions. Parks Canada workers will be in a legal strike position after midnight Thursday night. The Public Service Alliance of Canada - the union representing 4,800 parks employees - and government negotiators are meeting Wednesday and Thursday in a last attempt to salvage a contract agreement.
