Soul Soothing (Aug 18 2004 18:59 GMT) - This windows view has changed so muchThis peaceful feeling, is it God’s touch? The late afternoon winter sun beats upon my faceIts warmth and brightness hold me in its embraceMy view has changed upon the worldAs if the beauty has only now unfurledThis window was my rock bottom at one timeNow I sit here loving the warmth, feeling the rhymeI sit back at my desk, and close my eyesI let the warmth envelop me, my soul sighsDrinking in its essence like a dry spongeMy spirit rising after its deepest plungeI can see the brilliant crimson glow behind my closed eyesAt this moment I am thankful I failed at the few death triesI cannot write anymore for I crave the sunI will enjoy it for now, before away it does run |

A Search Engine Designed For Spammers (Aug 18 2004 18:57 GMT) - With the rise of "search" as a viable market again, the last few months has seen a ridiculous rise in the number of new search engines out there, often make questionable claims. Some of them are fun to play around with, while some are just pointless. Most aren't particularly interesting (which is why we don't write about them here). However, the Inquirer is talking about a new search engine called AnooX that has an interesting strategy. Rather than work on any special ranking algorithm based on relevancy, they let users vote results up or down, with the idea being that the users will properly rank the results. |

iTunes to Nokia: More Mobile Media Thoughts (Aug 18 2004 18:56 GMT) - So I decided the other day that I wanted something interesting to listen to while running. Not that I have been running, just that I'm thinking about it and am preparing myself for the challenge. I decided that listening to an AudioBook might be the perfect thing to keep me from getting bored while trudging along on a treadmill. Since my wife owns the iPod in the family, I need to use something else to play back the audio, and I figured that my spanky Series 60 mobile phone would be the perfect device for it. Though the 7610 does support various audio codecs like AMR, AAC and MP3, it doesn't support stereo output (urgh) which normally would be a deal breaker if I wanted to use the phone as a walkman. |
