- Last night, John Kerry spoke of "The Global Test" an action needs to pass. This is a very great and pointed jab, I believe, at Bush's core arrogance in the world. The "global test" I think is a very good way of saying that if it is going to be democratic, an action needs to sound like democracy. The idea of democracy won hands-down, but the world looks at us now. I don't think that means that if we want to take pre-emptive unilateral action against someone, we can, its just that popular opinion will be that it doesn't sound too much like a democracy. |
