ip move (Oct 13 2004 23:58 GMT) - Ah, but this is the one case where you'd use a 302 redirect rather than a 301. A 302 means that a document has moved temporarily, and tells Google not to discard the old URL for it, and not to worry too much about listing the new URL because it is temporary. A 301 would tell it to forget the old URL and use the new details instead. See the difference in meaning? |
