resize page problem (Oct 24 2004 23:46 GMT) - Happy postiversary to you paul! CSS sites will implode all over the place if fixed widths are used, try to use percentages to avoid the problem. (course if you use google adwords then you are screwed as despite what google and its puppets think, they cant program - hence the fact that they offer absolutely no support at all for webmasters who need a liquid layout. There adwords is really bad in this respect as it is a fixed size table, no options for css, or anything else. Either they are incompetent, which I think they are, or they just dont give a toss about anyone else other than themselves (which I also believe) Ahh google, where is the old google, the one that used to return decent results....... |

Help with testing only for the seriously bored (Oct 24 2004 23:44 GMT) - No one can reallydo a proper test, if submissions are going to be kept... A good test would test for things that would break your script, but those would not be submissions that you would want to keep..... Perhaps if you can confirm that you would only keep real suggestions, but delete all ones starting with TEST or similar then we could go insane and try and break it. |

BC politics grows up, maybe (Oct 24 2004 23:41 GMT) - On May 17, 2005 we will have a provincial election here in BC and the voters of the province will have an opportunity to vote on a referendum at the same time. That referendum will determine if BC moves away from a first-past-the-post electoral system, possibly the most flawed version of democracy, to a Single Transferable Vote system. This is the recommendation of the Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform that has been working on this for 10 months now. This recommendation and the results of the referendum are binding on the provincial government. Here is a PDF that outlines the Assembly's STV system. |
