The Now Vision (Oct 26 2004 21:57 GMT) - The Now VisionI have just had a vision of sorts as to the directionfor the planet.I was sitting here thinking that the way we aretreating ourselves and the planet seems somewhatcriminal and vainglorious. We are a speciesobsessed and preoccupied with ourselves andour own cleverness yet we are not clever at allbut petty and cruel. We do not live in harmony andquality with one and other but make it an occupationto cheat and outdo one and other. We are vain, petty, obsessed, excessive, one big new Roman orgy it seems. |

Load Times: Hotels and Resorts (Oct 26 2004 21:56 GMT) - While we are on the topic of speed tweaks and usage stats I thought I would mention some of my findings with a recent web site load time analysis I did on high-end hotel and resort sites. In this analysis I reviewed and tested approximately 27 different hotel and resort sites. The criteria I measured were the number of HTTP requests, the total page weight (including images, Flash, CSS, Javascript, etc.) and the resulting load time. Note, load time is a much different metric than request time. |
