- According to a population-based study, those who take proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) such as Nexium or Prevacid, and H2-receptor antagonists like the popular Pepcid and Zantac, may have an increased risk of developing pneumonia. In a comparison of some 365,000 Dutch citizens and about 5,500 first-time cases of pneumonia, scientists estimated the risk of pneumonia was 89 percent higher for current users of PPIs and 63 percent higher for current users of H2-receptor antagonists, compared with past users of these agents. But you don't need H2-receptor anatagonists or PPIs, if you do these things:Follow a solid eating plan based on your body's personal metabolic type.Drink up to one gallon of pure water every day combined with high doses of a good quality probiotic. |
