Clinton Returns to Trail (Oct 26 2004 23:34 GMT) - Seeing Bill Clinton campaigning today made me realize how bad Dubya really is. Hopefully, we won't be seeing much more of him, Dubya that is. I am watching the "Jesus Factor" right now. Why isn't it an issue that Dubya was a drunk? If Kerry had been a drunk, it would have been a big deal. |

Note from Mouse to Elephant (Oct 26 2004 23:34 GMT) - One of the memes percolating on those Other Blogs these days is the notion that us foreign types shouldn't be commenting on the American election. I myself, the soul of gentility and erudite discourse, was upbraided in no uncertain terms on this matter by a gentleman from Astoria. Now, I always thought the Astoria was a hotel, but apparently not: it also seems to be the home of an individual who finds my gentle sallies and mild probing to be both inexplicable and annoying. Barely conceivable, I know, but there you are. |

Trippi class (Oct 26 2004 23:34 GMT) - Joe Trippi invited me in as a guest speaker at the seminar he leads at the JFK School of Government at Harvard. Man, that was fun, although I apparently depressed several students judging by the number of them who were googling for some variation of noose "how to tie". You know you're being depressing when, in response to a question about the world in twenty years, you use the phrase " |

Gary Finds MSN Interface (Oct 26 2004 23:34 GMT) - The inestimable Gary Price noodled around the MSN search preview site and found something he probably wasn't supposed to. The page has since been taken down, but Gary has screen shots (here and here too) and a summary of the MSN search interface he found there. Good work Gary! ...what I found most interesting, an option to use three "sliders" to manipulate the ranking of pages. |
