No U2 Box Set For the Irish (Oct 27 2004 15:59 GMT) - Ironically, members of U2, who live in Dublin, can't buy their own music from iTunes: residents of Ireland are the only Europeans who can't access Apple's new European iTunes music store, Macworld UK reports. Funny Bono and The Edge didn't bring this up at yesterday's splashy iPod launch. Must have slipped their minds. Photo: |

The Day of the Dead (Oct 27 2004 15:59 GMT) - Both the New York Times and NY Mag provide roundups fo restaurants celebrating the Mexican festival of El Dia de los Muertos, The Day of the Dead, when the spirits of the dead return to the land of the living to eat, drink, and be merry. Traditional foods such as pan de los muertos, a sweet bread flavored with anise (you can find a recipe here if you'd like to make your own), and sugar candies in the shape of skulls are eaten to mark the occasion. Mercadito, Rocking Horse, Rosa Mexicano, and La Palapa are among the restaurants offering Dia de los Muertos specials, and they are also participants in the Mexican Restaurant tour. To learn more about the holiday, you can read more in the companion Times article, visit Mexonline, or check out this lesson plan we found. It's for a fourth or fifth grade level, so it's just about our speed. |

How ?well designed, popular and accessible? is your website? (Oct 27 2004 15:58 GMT) - You'd probably already have heard of or seen Silktide Sitescore that purports to "rate how well designed, popular and accessible your website is". A while back it used to tell me I was a criminal for having an inaccessible website. I got sub-5 scores and a close-to-zero score for accessibility. ... |
