“Gold Rush Coins from the Wreck of the Winfield Scott” (Oct 28 2004 06:59 GMT) - The California Oil Museum will present “Gold Rush Coins from the 1853 Wreck of the Winfield Scott” at 2 PM, Saturday, October 31, 2004, in the Main Hall of the Museum (805-933-0076; 1001 E. Main St., Santa Paula). Museum historian Jack Totheroh will present a Discovery Lecture about gold coins recovered from the Winfield Scott, a side-wheel steamship shipwrecked off Anacapa Island in 1853. |

Alt for mange tcp resets (Oct 28 2004 06:59 GMT) - Min firewall log er pludselig begyndt at vise en forfærdelig masse tcp resets. Jeg har bladret lidt i nettet og fundet eksempler at den slags bruges som for DoS-angreb. Er det det her - og hvad kan jeg gøre? Systemet er gemt bag en Zywall10, der er opdateret Symantec AV på alle maskiner (windows-pc'ere) og de bliver regelmæssigt scannet med Spybot. Fra firewall-log: |

First we had research, then commercialisation became focus and for the last couple of years the movement has been towards humanisation, with Napster as the first important example. From this perspective he gives us some reasons for companies to blog - not unsimiliar to my suggestions, but differently formulated. I especially like this one. Simple, obvious but fundamental. |

News and stuff (Oct 28 2004 06:57 GMT) - Decided I'm going to dump a pile of different things in to this blog update, so here goes. Got my bike back from Crown Cycles yesterday afternoon. Total damage was R579.00, but the rear wheel still needs to be rebuilt, and I suspect thats going to cost a bit. Justin found two hairline cracks where the nipple exits the rim, so we're seeing what we can do with regards to getting the rim replaced. |
