but wait... there's more! (Oct 29 2004 00:59 GMT) - apparently Voting While Hispanic is only OK in MiamiNinety-five Hispanic voters in Atkinson County were summoned to a courthouse hearing Thursday to defend their right to vote after a complaint alleged a county commissioner attempted to register non-U.S. citizens. Now a voting challenge that some call a political vendetta has forced 78 percent of the rural county's registered Hispanics to defend their citizenship or their ballots won't be counted in next week's elections. The American Civil Liberties Union has gotten involved because three local men who filed the complaint selected the voters by asking the Board of Registrars for a list of all Hispanics registered in the county. |

See you later Microsoft (Oct 29 2004 00:58 GMT) - Microsoft can still turn their greed minded decision around Kim, it is a matter of pressure from the community. The security of the entire internet is determined by their decision on the IE issue and the forced updates to XP to get a secure browser for 50% of the non-XP windows user base. This is something they have not heard the end of unless they reverse this silly policy. The one that is not responsible is Bill Gates himself, does he need the money gained by forcing folks to pay him for a new OS (XP upgrades)? You would figure they would bend over backward to keep the customer base happy with all of the new competition, but it seems that Steve Balmer could not care less what folks think of them. |
