Anyone Noticed Yahoo's new design? (Oct 29 2004 17:57 GMT) - Yahoo just launched a new site design this morning. I think it looks fantastic. They have finally reconciled with all of the clutter they need to show and I think it is one of the best portal layouts I've seen. They have a lot of poop to display but by using proper design principles I think they have done a good job of presenting a ton of content. Elements of good design: |

Fri, 29 Oct 2004 17:56:43 GMT (Oct 29 2004 17:56 GMT) - Can't trust those flip-flopping (ex-) lefties/Brits, can you? ;-) Either he's trying to please both sides in their respective mags, which would be pathetic and a sign of a failure to grasp the openess of the internet or he's simply just changed his mind during the week. I suppose endorsements are like testaments - it's the last one that counts... It's curious though. |

JPay Java Payment API (Oct 29 2004 17:56 GMT) - Some progress has been made on the proposed JPay Java Payment API specification - it is in the early draft review stage. The next stage is a public review. This is interesting because once this API is standard you can access 3rd party credit card payment services with a standard interface. This will gives you the freedom to change credit card processing systems with only a configuration change, and no code changes. I would wager that you might even eventually see a CFPAYMENT ColdFusion tag tha |
