Historian Paul Johnson: Kerry Must Be Stopped (Oct 31 2004 01:00 GMT) - Now that I've cheesed off all of our British readers with my post about the Independent poll (sheesh! who knew Brits were so touchy?), let me draw your attention to this absolutely brilliant analysis of what's at stake in the US election by eminent British historian Paul Johnson, who writes, ... |

Dude, You Read My Mind... Pervert! (Oct 31 2004 01:00 GMT) - From both the 'Did I Really Write That?' and 'Activities That Are Probably Far Less Entertaining Than You'd Initially Believe' departments: I got a hit from a Google searcher a few minutes ago. Links for 2004-10-31 (Oct 31 2004 01:00 GMT) - Little Britain is being re-edited for broadcast on BBC One to remove some of the more extreme humour I watched Monkey Dust on BBC2 the other day and was suddenly aware how hardcore/shocking some of it was. My expectations had changed because it was on BBC2. And my reaction changed because I had become aware of the possibility of my mother watching it. Castle Headingham (Oct 31 2004 01:00 GMT) - Dad's here. I picked him up from amid the delayed crowds at Liverpool Street and we squeezed ourselves onto a packed train. With hot and bothered commuters squeezed into every crevice, we crept through the suburbs as though afraid to wake the driver. After that we didn't much feel like going out, so gave into the charms of the BBC until this morning when an electrician arrived to fill holes in the ceiling with lightbulbs. Our cue to leave. |

After all, getting something in a gallery at the first attempt, something I did within the first four months of taking this up, well, I feel a little justifiably proud about it all...) |

The Last Post (Oct 31 2004 01:00 GMT) - ...made during British Summer Time of 2004 that is.A beautiful autumnal day, at times today. I went into Oxford this afternoon after a leisurely morning pottering round the house. The trip to Oxford was one of those in and out, but necessary trips: a new sketchpad for Wednesday's life drawing class, and some diary refills for me, me mum, and me dad. |

West Brom 1 - 4 Chelsea (Oct 31 2004 01:00 GMT) - An impressive second half display saw us sweep aside West Brom with the minimal amount of fuss. Our first half performance was probably the worst of the year. After the break we were different class. Jose Mourinho must have uttered the right words in the dressing room at half-time.
