Unarmed Vacationers... (Nov 02 2004 23:15 GMT) - The story that dropped quickly from US view was the October 24 story about the Iraqi National Guardsmen killed. They had completed training at the Kirkush base and were traveling without weapons or armed escort. They were stopped and executed by people who were not trained by the US. This should have been a bigger story here. If we can't train and arm completely enough for a group to head home for leave within a combat zone how the hell will the Iraqis ever be able to control their... |

Post Halloween Report (Nov 02 2004 23:14 GMT) - Well, Halloween has come to an end. Not as many trick or treaters as we were expecting, but we had fun giving a hard time to all the older kids going door to door without costumes. Also, if you're looking for some creepy music to play at gatherings, might i recommend String Quartet Tribute to Nirvana, quite beautiful yet chilling at the same time. I start my second week at the new job today and am extremely revved up about the big project (see the Gonzo Programming post). Now, that means Lily has to stay outside alone all day while we're away at work. |

Gonzo Programming Begins! (Nov 02 2004 23:14 GMT) - No, not that Gonzo. Gonzo Journalism was pioneered by Hunter S. Thompson (from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas). Basically, it's a type of outlaw journalism where the reporter is actually the main character in the story. Now, according to Everything2, Gonzo Programming is Gonzo Journalism without the journalism and the reporter is replaced with a Perl programmer. |
