Cracking a beer (Nov 03 2004 17:58 GMT) - Rather than stressing over the election contest across the border last night, I went with a friend and his father-in-law to see Team America: World Police, which seemed an appropriate film for the occasion. Then I came home, looked at the numbers, cracked a beer (something I rarely do—Canadian beer, by the way), and went to bed, to find things hadn't changed for the better overnight. Camera Phone Photos Making Front Page News (Nov 03 2004 17:57 GMT) - People have been predicting this would happen, but it's finally becoming more common that people with camera phones are the first ones on the scene of a crime and are taking photos that later end up in newspapers. In the Netherlands, the largest newspaper is using a camera phone photo along with the story about the murder of a well-known filmmaker. This is the second time this paper has used a camera phone photo in about a month. The newspaper said there was a debate over whether or not the photo should be used, but they said after some reflection there was no way they couldn't use it. Now, with so many people having camera phones to snap pictures at a moments notice it will be interesting to see if the nature of some crimes starts to change. |

Zogby (Nov 03 2004 17:57 GMT) - It's high time we recognized this guy for what he is - a partisan charlatan. If you don't think so, please explain to me why he consistently "assumed" Kerry into +3-5 percentage point swings in nearly every state? Look, you can't be a fuckin' partisan pollster who makes detailed assumptions about the election and works them into your polls. There's no way you can do this and be unbiased. It's funny, I would expect this same stuff from the MSM, who tell it as straight as they can. |
