RSS && (Jobs & !EA) (Nov 11 2004 23:59 GMT) - I used to use Trillian Pro with the news plugin as an RSS aggregator. However, doesn't support newer RSS standards, so I supplemented that with my friends list in LiveJournal. But that meant I had to manually refresh whenever I wanted to see new articles, and it would only display so many on a page. So it was time to hunt.I first tried RSS Bandit. |

180 Search Assistant. (Nov 11 2004 23:59 GMT) - I think I'll make a note of every company that pops up on 180 and write to them to tell them that I will never buy anything from them, and that I'll advise everyone I know to boycott them. I'll tell them that 180 has caused no end of problems and that, consequently, any company that advertises with them will forever be blacklisted by me. |

Giving Consideration to Veterans (Nov 11 2004 23:59 GMT) - Navy Veteran and librarian Michael McGrorty gives librarians, and everyone else, good reasons to consider the contributions of veterans of the US military. Society takes note of veterans every eleventh of November as it does of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day—with the occasional speech, perhaps a toast or two, and then the world passes on to other things. Veterans are relegated to the special category which permits us to attend to them on a regular schedule, then forget them for another 364 days. The patchwork of veteran’s preference regulations reflects the lack of seriousness with which we view the subject, or rather, the subject class. |

I'm still fighting, have a substantial work load today, and, well, felt lackadaisical. I watched the temps climb until I had no choice, I had to go riding. Who knows how many more days will be 55 degrees F? I had a great ride in terms of feeling good on the bike, having the time pass quickly etc. |
