Blogging by the Numbers (Nov 22 2004 23:59 GMT) - Here is an interesting article that measures the growth of the Blogosphere by three criteria: 'Size', 'Activity' and 'Authorship'. For example, according to the blog analysis firm Technorati, the size of the Blogosphere has doubled every five months over the last year and a half. David Sifry, the Technorati's chief executive, says the current number of blogs is now over 8 times bigger than the |

Shoot JFK for $9,99 (Nov 22 2004 23:29 GMT) - "Traffic Games said the objective [of JFK Reloaded] was for a player to fire three shots at Kennedy's motorcade from assassin Lee Harvey Oswald's digitally recreated sixth-floor perch in the Texas School Book Depository. Points are awarded or subtracted based on how accurately the shots match the official version of events as documented in by the Warren Commission, which investigated Kennedy's assassination. Shooting the image of Kennedy in the right spots in the right sequence adds to the score, while "errors" like shooting first lady Jacqueline Kennedy lead to deductions. Each shot can be replayed in slow motion, and the bullets can be tracked as they travel and pass through Kennedy's digitally recreated body. Players can choose to see blood by pressing a "blood effects" option. |

The Daily DeLay (Nov 22 2004 23:27 GMT) - Investigative bloggers are taking on Tom DeLay. Following Joshua Micah Marshall's lead in trying to figure out just which legislators voted for the DeLay Rule, David Donnelly has created The Daily DeLay, a weblog for tracking just who voted for the rule, and who opposed it. (The DeLay Rule is a rule change by House Republicans that will allow a legislator indicted by state prosecutors to remain in a leadership post, passed because Majority Leader Tom DeLay may face prosecution in Texas.) This is another case where bloggers won't let a story die: in addition to the Daily DeLay, Technorati shows a number of bloggers that have linked to the CNN version of the story, as well as 3544 entries that mention the DeLay Rule. |
