Shushing Contest Brings an End to Children's Book Week (Nov 23 2004 23:59 GMT) - Fun idea for the end of Children's Book week in Albany, Oregon...a shushing contest @ the library. Stories, puppet shows and other activities were also part of the celebration. A brother and sister (of course) tried to outdo one another in the shushing department, but you'll have to read the article to see the outcome. |

Problem with VS 2003, VS 2005 Beta, and XP SP2? (Nov 23 2004 23:58 GMT) - This is probably not the place to ask this, but I have limited resources in this part of the world. So I recently installed SP2 for XP over the top of my previous XP and VS 2005 Beta. Then I needed to do something with VS 2003 so I re-installed it and now when I try to open an ASP.NET project in VS 2003 I get an error that says "Cannot open project because the web server is not running. Please start the web server. |

Novell Launches New Linux Operating System (Nov 23 2004 23:57 GMT) - In the '80s and most of the '90s, Novell ruled the roost for PC network operating systems. In fact, a term was coined, NOS (network operating system) to describe Novell's flagship product. But the Redmond juggernaut eventually overcame Novell's efforts. Novell shops still exist, but they're getting to be few and far between. As Microsoft consolidated its gain in servers, Novell's Linux began to make inroads on what had seemed to be secure territory. |

Bait Cast First Timer (Nov 23 2004 23:56 GMT) - I've been reading many posts made over the past months regarding bait cast reels, their pro's and con's, and proper technique. Glad I did. I just treated myself to my first bait cast reel and, based on many of your suggestions, went with a Shimano Curado. I picked up the Curado and a BPS Extreme combo for $169. I've been using the Shimano Sahara spinning reels for some time and like them (one on a BPS Extreme and one one a BPS Bionic Blade), so it wasn't much of a stretch to go with thi... |

Update on Garmin Service (Nov 23 2004 23:56 GMT) - Well, I received my G162 back today with a letter stating that the unit was working perfectly for them, and for me to check my battery connections. I haven't *rechecked* them today, but I'll check again when I hook it back up. But, when I unpackaged the unit, Garmin had graciously replaced the front plastic cover and installed new control buttons. Looks like a new unit! ... |

Ever have one of those days when everything....... (Nov 23 2004 23:56 GMT) - went just right? Well, yesterday was not one of them! I fished my next to last club tournament yesterday. Both clubs I am in have a two club tournament the first Sunday in December to end our year, so I have one left. I am in first place for the year in the club that fished yesterday, and could guarantee first for the year by finishing in the top 9. |
