Head of Largest Gay Organization Resigns (Nov 30 2004 23:37 GMT) - The president of the Washington-based Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay and lesbian civil rights organization, announced her resignation Tuesday, citing "a difference in management philosophy" with her board. Former Massachusetts state senator Cheryl Jacques headed the group less than a year. She said she'd achieved her goals. |

Gambling Science (Nov 30 2004 23:36 GMT) - WSJ writes about Harrah's: The company made $1 billion in revenue last year -- one quarter of its total -- from such "cross market" players, up from about $200,000 a decade earlier. Harrah's can also trace 75.6% of its gambling revenue back to specific customers. Behind Harrah's strategy is Chief Executive Gary Loveman, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology-trained economist and former Harvard Business School professor. |

Antispam Measure Progresses in Ohio (Nov 30 2004 23:35 GMT) - Ohio is one step closer to ridding its residents' inboxes of spam since the state legislature passed the nation's latest antispam bill on Tuesday. This measure, co-sponsored by Ohio Representative Kathleen Walcher and Senator Ron Amstutz, has also received backing from America Online. If the law is signed by the governor, it will be one of the toughest antispam laws in the country. |
