More than 4,000 votes vanished without a trace into a computer's overloaded memory in one North Carolina county, and about a hundred paper ballots were thrown out by mistake in another. In Texas, a county needed help from a laboratory in Canada to unlock the memory of a touch-screen machine and unearth five dozen votes. [BostonGlobe-FrontPage] |

Rainbow Six 4 (Dec 01 2004 23:35 GMT) - When it comes to the genre of tactical shooters, there's only one name you really need to know: Rainbow Six. Although the long running Tom Clancy series first premiered on the PC in the late 90s, it really hit its stride when it landed on the Xbox last year. Rainbow Six 3 immediately rocketed to the top of the Xbox Live charts, spawning not only a PS2 version, but an expansion pack of sorts, as well (albeit one with new game modes and weapons). |

In-Stat MDR Report Says Xbox 2 is Coming in 2005 (Dec 01 2004 23:35 GMT) - From high-tech market research firm In-Stat/MDR, expects the Xbox successor to arrive in late 2005: The first next-generation console should hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2005 with the introduction of Microsoft's Xbox 2. In-Stat/MDR also informs about Sony's plans and how Nintendo fits in the middle: Sony, however, is not likely to give Microsoft too much lead time before launching its PS3 console, which should occur by mid-2006. Nintendo will try to launch its next-generation GameCube 2 console either before, or simultaneously with Sony, which Nintendo considers to be its primary competition. |

Master Chief Can Fly!!! (Dec 01 2004 23:35 GMT) - Glitches in games are often amusing things; sure games that are packed full of them are no fun at all, however the odd occasional glitch in a game is often an amusing event, especially when the game is noted for it’s strength – we fondly recall meeting an American who took great pride in demonstrating everyone of the 12 or so glitches he’d discovered within Mario 64. |
