(Dec 03 2004 00:59 GMT) - The top U.S. military officer said on December 2, 2004 congressional negotiators have resolved his concerns about a sweeping intelligence reform bill, signaling he no longer opposed the measure, which has been stalled partly by Pentagon unease. Air Force Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, had warned in an October letter to a key lawmaker against diluting the authority of the Pentagon on intelligence issues. |

Optical Tempest! (Dec 03 2004 00:59 GMT) - Optical Emission Security: "An image is created on the CRT surface by varying the electron beam intensity for each pixel. The room in which the CRT is located is partially illuminated by the pixels. As a result, the light in the room becomes a measure for the electron beam current. In particular, there is a little invisible ultrafast flash each time the electron beam refreshes a bright pixel that is surrounded by dark pixels on its left and right. |

Better every time (Dec 03 2004 00:57 GMT) - I keep visiting the Amnesty USA website (designed by Happy Cog) and the more I look into the better it gets. A lot of the ideas I'm having for the WWF site have already been implemented in that site. Which is annoying because I'm going to have to work harder to differentiate our site. But at the same time it is interesting to see the depth of the design unfold as I look into it more - a lot of the features aren't immediately apparent until you start digging a little deeper. One case in point is the clear separation of content (such as articles and background information) and the call to action. |
