Software Talk (Dec 03 2004 00:50 GMT) - I'm always on the lookout for the next cool software dealio to come down the pike. One thing I'm forever searching for is organizational software. With a day job that is currently bounded by the Rio Grande, the Mississippi, the Pacific and the Canadian border combined with the Tiny Bidness, the smaller "hey, here's a good idea" Tiny Bidness spin-offs that take research and investigation, The Wife's various stabs at capitalistic endeavours in the music world, the tiny bit of pokering that I get to do and want to do more (and, of course, this bucket o' crap that you're reading right now) -- well, organization gets kind of important. It was once a strong suit of mine, but it has deteriorated with age and inattention. I've bought what seems like a hundred programs and add-ins and systems and books and schemes with the intention of finally getting a handle on things. |

MSN Spaces: seven dirty blogs (Dec 03 2004 00:50 GMT) - Xeni Jardin:... ... Earlier today, I posted comments from a BoingBoing reader about the fact that MSN Spaces, Microsoft's new blogging tool, censors certain words you might try to include in a blog title or url. If you can't speak freely on a blog, what's the point of having one? This demanded a full BoingBoing investigation. |

Blackstars. Players or wannabes? [David Hodgkinson] (Dec 03 2004 00:49 GMT) - I've just gone through my top contacts and aside from Thomas and the ineffable Mike Southon I have *no* Blackstars in the top couple of hundred. None of the wonderful people who have given us such great support over the life of Rockit Factory so far are Blackstars. Nor are any of those that, in whatever small ways, we've been able to help. Can I please have, say a white star, as an emblem that I'm commited to the pure, pay it forward nature of networking? Or is that a bunch of tree hugging hippy crap? |

Le Monde is one of the first newspapers in the World to offer blogs to their readers, under the Le Monde brand. They have also published a ranking of the 10 top blogs, mixing their journalists blogs and their readers blogs, showing them at the same level, based on blog readers recommendations. Fascinating move. |
