There really was not a good distribution for the new user and Linux had years to go before it would be ready to this end. I remember choosing OpenLinux and the struggles I went through getting my hardware to work. Back then you really had to know ALL the details of each device you wanted to install. Took hours! |

The amazing scribes (Dec 03 2004 15:29 GMT) - ... The scribes at this ICANN meeting are amazing. They are using steno keyboards to type what people are saying in realtime and it is being projected on a big screen. What is amazing is that they are typing in English, even when the speakers are speaking French. I wish I could pipe the text into the IRC channel. I wonder if there is a way to get the scribe text via jabber or something... |
