Install XAMPP for easy, integrated development (Dec 03 2004 23:24 GMT) - Open source stacks such as XAMPP from Apache Friends are simplifying open source development by making it easier to write and distribute applications in a stable and standardized environment. Police Kill Man with Stun Guns for "Acting Erratically" (Dec 03 2004 23:23 GMT) - An Elk Grove man died early Monday in a confrontation with Sacramento County sheriff's deputies after officers used pepper spray and shot the man twice with 50,000-volt Taser stun guns. Sheriff's officials said Ricardo Zaragoza struggled with four deputies who wanted to take him in for a mental health examination after his family called saying he was acting erratically. Sheriff's officials and family members said officers shot him twice in the chest with Taser guns. Family members, however, said officers used excessive force to control him. |

Unwrapping Innocence (Dec 03 2004 23:22 GMT) - Earlier this year, I wrote a column about the impropriety of airing prophylactic advertisements during Saturday morning children?s programming. Aficionados of the moral debauchery into which our nation is descending snapped classic animation is no longer directed at young children but rather towards libertine post-adolescents with less control over their urges than barnyard animals.
