Incoming minority leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) talks with Tim Russert on NBC's (Dec 05 2004 20:59 GMT) - Incoming minority leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) talks with Tim Russert on NBC's 'Meet the Press' in Washington, December 5, 2004. A bill backed by President Bush to overhaul American spy agencies faced an uncertain future on Sunday and Reid said the Republican-led Congress should not adjourn for the year until it passes. With lawmakers set to begin returning to Capitol Hill on Monday for an anticipated brief session, Reid said Bush needs to crank up pressure on fellow Republicans to embrace the bipartisan measure. Kinvara and the New Ireland (Dec 05 2004 20:58 GMT) - From NPR: As late as the 1980s, many of Ireland's high school graduates emigrated to survive. Bush's war court hypocrisy will fuel terrorist fury (and cost us friends) (Dec 05 2004 20:57 GMT) - Pardon me while I spit some venom. The lead article in today's Boston Globe is about the latest chapter in the jihad of the Bush Administration and Republican Congressional leadership against the International Criminal Court. They've snuck language into the 3,000 page budget bill the House will consider this week to "withhold hundreds of millions of dollars of foreign aid aimed at combating terrorism, resolving conflicts, and building democracy" unless the recipients will agree to protect Americans from prosecution at the UN permanent war crimes tribunal. Holy Abu Ghraib! What hypocrisy! |

Forget "Now Playing," It's All About Audioscrobbler (Dec 05 2004 20:56 GMT) - Finally got a chance to check out www.audioscrobbler.com, which essentially is a service that sits in your media player of choice via a plugin and phones home to Audioscrobbler what you've been listening to (just need to not let iTunes run through that hair band playlist I have ;). I've been looking for something like this for a while, and it looks as if I can retire the "Now Playing" entries for good. |

ESPN/BASS Weekend Series Sign Up Question (Dec 05 2004 20:56 GMT) - I'm kind of ticked right now at BASS. I just went online to register as a non-boater in the new ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series. I wanted to register for the Lake Champlain tournament on August 7, 2005, but it said that Bassmaster was only accepting registrations for the whole regional package, which is 5 tournaments. I think the way they advertise it is very misleading. My last 3 issues of Bassmaster magazine has had double-page advertisements announcing this new series, but now... |
