- Ok, I'll be clear up front that this is little more than an entry pimping Maine businesses, but since I've found them to be a valuable resource in years past, and it might be a rare opportunity to get some of you up my way for a meet up, I thought it warranted a mention. For any of the Boston area readers - or those of you who will be passing through between now and the 25th - I suggest a quick trip to the outlets in Freeport. It's been the savior of many a Christmas for me in years past, so for any of you still desperately searching for gifts it might be a good option. They've got outlets for everyone - Brooks Brothers, Cole Haan, Gap, J Crew, North Face, Patagonia, Polo, Timberland, etc, etc - plus it's home to LL Bean's massive store [1]. Drivetime from Boston is around 2 hrs or a little over (Rt 1N - I-95N - I-295N), depending on how much you speed, and if you want to stretch your legs after a day of shopping, you can hit Bradbury Mountain (it's not really a mountain at all) as I did this weekend. |
