- Had similar browser problems with png transparency myself, found out that the only browsers that would not display properly was IE PC 5, and some older versions of the AOL browser.(which is IE based?) I found that the following browsers all seemed to work either with a javascript fix, or natively supported- IE 5.5 upwards PC IE 5 MAC All modern versions of the Mozilla based browsers (Firefox etc) on both MAC and PC Safari Opera MAC and PC In the end I decided against using PNG transparency in this way, too many hacks and problems to get it to work for all browsers.
