Kansas Has New State Librarian (Dec 10 2004 08:59 GMT) - The Curmudgeony Librarian writes "The people of Kansas have a new State Librarian as Christie Brandau was appointed to the position this week. Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius made the announcement Tuesday December 8th. Ms. Brandau was previously the state librarian of Michigan. She replaces Duane Johnson, who recently retired from the position. |

New iPods to use Toshiba flash memory? (Dec 10 2004 08:57 GMT) - Toshiba has reportedly agreed to supply Apple with flash memory chips--presumably for the much-rumored flash iPod. China Daily reports that Yasuo Morimoto, senior executive vice president at Toshiba, has confirmed his company will start selling the memory chips to Apple "early next year."
