Bærbar problem (Dec 10 2004 17:59 GMT) - Jeg har ret pludseligt fået et problem med min bærbare computer. Når jeg booter viser den windows xp logo mm. korrekt under opstarten, men i samme øjeblik den går ind i selve windows bliver skærmen helt sort. Jeg har prøvet at starte maskinen i fejlsikret tilstand og VGA-mode - i begge disse tilstande virker det helt fint! Når jeg forsøget at øge opløsningen forsvinder skærmbilledet desværre : |

Bronze Bust of Ptolemy of Mauretania Auctioned (Dec 10 2004 17:59 GMT) - The New York Times: Sotheby's New York recently auctioned a seven ince fine bronze Roman portrait bust of Ptolemy of Mauretania at about age 15. "Cleopatra VII, who ascended the Egyptian throne as a teenager, and Mark Antony had at least three children, including the twins Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene. Cleopatra Selene married Juba II, king of Mauretania, a kingdom on the northern coast of Africa. This fertile land of forests, elephants and camels was not the Mauritania of today in Northwest Africa, but a Roman-dominated state on the Mediterranean Sea, now part of Morocco and Algeria. |

New From Google: Google Suggest (Dec 10 2004 17:59 GMT) - Google has a new product, Google Suggest out in Beta. There's an FAQ that describes this new service: "As you type into the search box, Google Suggest guesses what you're typing and offers suggestions in real time. Google Suggest might offer suggestions that you will find novel or intriguing. " Me, I just want an answer to a question most of the time, this seems like a nifty idea to reach that goal. |

Salinger's ''The Catcher in the Rye" removed from the freshman curriculum. She says she had never heard of Salinger's book, a coming-of-age story about a 16-year-old boy, before she learned it was on her son's freshman reading list. |

Molester's lawsuit blaming library security is tossed (Dec 10 2004 17:59 GMT) - Strange One Out Of Indiana where a judge has thrown out a prisoner's lawsuit blaming a library's security for the child molesting he committed. He claimed that the 4-year-old victim would not have been hurt if security guards had confronted him or called police after observing him in an unauthorized area of the St. Joseph County Public Library before the molestation. |

Librarian accused of conning Bain (Dec 10 2004 17:59 GMT) - The Boston Herald seems to be suprised a former Bain Co. librarian was indicted yesterday on charges she cheated the high-powered Boston consulting firm out of $800,000. "The nation's white-collar crime wave has featured an array of villains, from jet-setting executives to crooked accountants. Now you can add the corporate librarian to the list of alleged fraudsters." Giving new meaning to the term ``corporate research,'' the 31-year-old librarian is said to have tricked Bain executives into shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars over six years for phony research reports. |
