Can Politicians Learn From eBay? (Dec 13 2004 21:59 GMT) - While eBay has changed and grown over the years, it's still one of the more interesting examples of an online trust system where the community polices itself. It doesn't always work perfectly, but it does do a pretty good job most of the time. The key to it is that people try to hold others accountable. If they describe an item in a misleading way, or don't live up to promises concerning shipments or payments, they see that reflected poorly in their feedback ratings. Obviously, some scammers have figured out plenty of ways to game the system, but it does add a larger transaction cost to running a scam. |

Possible to pass info through a frameset???? (Dec 13 2004 21:57 GMT) - Ok, I think I'm getting it. That's closer to the second option I mentioned in my post above, I think. In the frameset page, use a language such as ASP or PHP to get the variables like you normally would, and then pass them on to the page that's going to deal with them, and in there deal with them like you normally would. I hope that makes sense :) Here's how to do it in PHP: |

(Dec 13 2004 21:56 GMT) - Heres the deal... people at my sisters office are talking about a Seinfeld episode I told her to tell them this never happened, they still clam it did, could I use some of you post to prove one of us wrong (hopefully them)... They only things they remember about the epidode was the gang all went skiing, and the part they keep talking about, that was sooo funny, was a man with no legs, on a small square board. The gang debated on who was going to push him down the hill and eventually Kramer did it. If this is a Seinfeld episode please let me know?? |
