Obviously, it's not designed to play games, but the unit can play back movies for up to 4 hours at the Game Boy Advance SP's native resolution (352 by 288 pixels) as well as play back MP3s with the screen off for up to 15 hours on a charge. I have no idea if Nintendo plans to bring the unit out to the United States, but since it should work with the DS just fine, there's no reason they couldn't (like taking away from the DS's momentum, I'm saying). For gamers I still think flash linkers that let you copy ROMs over are a lot more convenient (and you can get ones that use SD and MMC cards, I know), but since Nintendo has quietly been selling a ton of video content on GBA carts, I wonder if they're thinking about moving over to an SD-based content distribution system. |

- Well, I grouped up with some friends this weekend and we went out killing Black Sun pirates. My ship was just left in the dust as these master pilots in their tricked out X-Wings slaughtered everything in just 3 or 4 shots, while it takes me 10-20. Well, I spent some time getting some new equipment and tricking out my own ship, and now I can take these guys down in about 6 or 7 shots. It looks like I'm going to have to learn all this "Reverse Engineering" stuff if I'm to get any better tho. The big weapons that those guys are using simply won't fit on my ship due to weight restrictions. |

So far, I'm loving it It's a classic puzzle game, with a few fights thrown in for variety. You spend most of your time dodging traps, and executing high-flying acrobatics to clear giant chasms. |

- Well, those who know me knew this was happening, but for the ones that didn't: Today I tendered my resignation at Z-Kat. Laura can testify to the fact that I've been horribly conflicted in the last few days/weeks over this decision, but it's done and I finally feel better about it. In a small startup, it's all about Risk vs Reward, and the Risk has simply become too high for me. I wish all the Z-Kat'ers (and Mako'ers) the best in "the project". |
