Constant images flashing through my mind,How satisfying they each are to me,How I long to do just one of these things,How wrong they are and yet I care not,To do one would be so grand,But only to be shot down by the voice in my head,Or is it the voice in my head that is masking these things,And I am the one trying to stop it?And what would happen if we came to an agreement? |

People Don't Pay Attention During Conference Calls (Dec 16 2004 23:58 GMT) - It shouldn't be news at all that plenty of people don't pay attention to the conference at hand when they dial in to a conference call. We've all done it. If the call isn't that important to you, but you need to be there, you do other stuff at your desk, or you go for a walk or something. Apparently, conferencing software makers think this is a huge problem. Earlier this year, we noted that Webex was offering a feature that would let presenters know if you weren't paying attention. |

Videresendelse af e-mail (Dec 16 2004 23:58 GMT) - Alle mine mail på universitetets server, der er et outlook web access mailsystem, bliver videresendt til mit outlook program fra 2003 på min egen computer. Kan jeg gøre det sådan, at den ikke videresender mails fra en bestemt adresse. Det er fordi at jeg gemmer, noget af det jeg skriver på universitetsserveren, og det ville være rart, hvis den mail jeg sender til mig selv, ikke bliver sendt videre til mit outlook fra outlook web assess. |

Conflicts of interest in outsourcing (Dec 16 2004 23:56 GMT) - "Traditionally, when we take a customer service call in-house, we expect and are prepared to talk as long as necessary to resolve the issue and ensure complete customer satisfaction. The key metrics that our Indian call center focused on, such as call times and abandon rates, worked against this approach… If, for example, they could make a conversation shorter or answer more calls per hour, they would do so and were then rewarded for it. As many of us are acutely aware, however, shorter call times don’t necessarily translate into happy customers." (source)The Indian call center had to make a business case for its own raison d'être, one additional and unpredicted variable in the outsourcing equation that isn't a factor when you handle your own calls at home. |
