Fundamentalist World: The New Dark Age Of Dogma (Dec 16 2004 23:34 GMT) - Recently I linked to a Digby post, where he reported on a 5 year study on Fundamentalism. The neat kicker to this little thrill ride is that the researchers surmised that there isn't Islamic Funadamentalism, and then Christian Fundamentalism, etc., etc. There's just one, universal fundamentalist model, which is co-opted by various agendas. Like, a D20 system of intolerance. |

Lucky or Smart? : Secrets to an Entrepreneurial Life (Dec 16 2004 23:34 GMT) - Amazon: At twenty-seven, Bo Peabody was an Internet multi-millionaire. In the heady days of the late 1990s, though, when every cool kid had an IPO, that wasnt very remarkable. What is remarkable is that hes even more successful today. He has co-founded five different companies, in varied industries, and made them thrive during the best and worst of economic times. |

The Marsh Arabs (Travel Library) (Dec 16 2004 23:34 GMT) - Here is a question I have been asked many times by the Dutch, ‘homosexuality in Iraq and in the Arab countries’, you know the Dutch are very open to talk about their sexuality in public and gays can marry here (come on Americans, if two people are happy together what is wrong with that ? and who cares?, let them marry), and Iraqis will not feel comfortable that I opened this subject because it’ |

A crazy idea about the West Wing (Dec 16 2004 23:33 GMT) - I have some ideas on what The West Wing should do this coming summer/season. Before I can tell you my ideas I want to just cover the interesting things that have been going on in TV in general and The West Wing in particular. Over the past few years, Fox has started to experiment with a year round season. They start shows at all sorts of different times of the year, they take odd breaks, they generally make it hard to follow the shows you want to watch. Some of the other networks have also started this practice. |
