Information for First Time Home Buyers? (Dec 18 2004 03:59 GMT) - Last year I sold a lot of commercial real esate. I am the seller, not an agent. Two points I would like to make. 1)do not use the same agent as the seller, a dual agent. He may not work the price down for you as he wants to consumate the deal. |

Swades: We, the People (Swades) (Dec 18 2004 03:58 GMT) - Film Reviews: Freshness and characterization that made "Lagaan" such a trailblazer for Bollywood's crossover potential is scarcely visible in filmer Ashutosh Gowariker's subsequent pic. Straight-arrow, single-issue story about a NASA engineer who returns to India and finds himself at odds with its traditional values. Legs look wobbly once word gets out. |

Hardcore (Dec 18 2004 03:58 GMT) - Film Reviews: Teenage hookers meet, fall in love and search for the rainbow in monster mash of raw ingredients held together by a confident sense of overall tone and compulsive perfs by leads Katerina Tsavalou and newcomer Danai Skiadi. Already sold to several Euro territories, plus Strand in the U.S., pic could benefit from exposure at name fests. |

Live product placement (Dec 18 2004 03:57 GMT) - Doc Searls doesn't like some of the surreptitious marketing that's going on: Several people have asked me what I think about BuzzAgent, so here's my joint answer to all of them: It sucks. Where Marqui is up front about what it's doing, and engaging bloggers in conversation (as well as promotion), BuzzAgent and its clients are being surreptitious and false, and spreading a virus of falsity through its agents. Mass market advertising has always been impersonal, and often (okay, almost always) fake. |

Louisiana Towns Going High-Tech (Dec 18 2004 03:57 GMT) - [Slashdot] - wolverineinspector writes "Mink, LA is finally getting telephone land lines after the neighbouring communities got theirs in 1970. In the article they also say that as many as 6.2% of US homes don't have phone service - that would mean that 19 million Americans don't have wired phone lines available to them." |
