What do you see in your crystal ball for 2005? (Dec 20 2004 23:23 GMT) - (that's a lot of places that carry deep-fat fried Mars bars!) Here are my predictions for 2005: Local search will be big in 2005, but the big search engines emphasizing the wonders of local search will fall flat when they try to meld yellow pages with search results. Small local directories, with ties to communities, and concern about those communities will be the winners when they come to understand that community is the hidden ingrediant that eludes Google, Yahoo, and others that think they can profit from local search.
