Maniac Mansion Deluxe (Dec 23 2004 13:24 GMT) - Wired News: Maniacs Make a Modern Mansion This news made my day. I was using a NES emulator to get my Maniac Mansion fix, but now I can download this free re-make. The WIRED article talks about the legality of the whole thing and how it shouldn't be a problem if the game isn't being sold anymore. Maybe some other folks will follow suit with some great remakes. |

timing belt day (Dec 23 2004 13:22 GMT) - today we are going to have the timing belt changed on the kia, which will be horribly expensive, and get an oil change, which will be free. we cannot be entirely sure if the timing belt was ever changed, but we reason that as it is a 60,000 mile item, and the vehicle had 71,000 when we purchased it, that it seems unlikely that it happened--the immediately previous owner, who had it briefly, wouldn't have done that, and if you were going to replace it soonish, the owner before probably wouldn't have either. we'll make one last call this morning to the used car dealer--he's been promising that 'the lady' who owned it was 'going to bring the records down' for some time. but.other than that, it just needs to be done. |
