Trådsløst netværk- hvad skal man købe? (Dec 23 2004 20:50 GMT) - Goddag. |

Our faves: Britney, eBay and tablets, says Google (Dec 23 2004 20:48 GMT) - If the term "zeitgeist" is applied as it is defined--an era's intellectual, moral and cultural climate--then it is clear from Google's annual report bearing the same name that the Web is a society dominated by suggestively gyrating blondes. The 2004 Year-End Google Zeitgeist statement was issued... |

Time Warner Says You Can Start Over Again (Dec 23 2004 20:47 GMT) - A year and a half ago Time Warner (or AOL Time Warner, at the time) ditched their relationship with TiVo to work on their own TiVo killer. The idea, called MystroTV, was that all of the functionality would be handled at the datacenter, but those using digital cable could watch any show from the previous two weeks of programming at any time. Of course, there were a number of folks in the broadcasting industry who didn't want that to happen and put some pressure on Time Warner. Also, there were some huge technology hurdles to overcome. As a replacement for that, it appears that Time Warner's cable division is about to start testing a greatly slimmed down version of this technology that will let users "start over" any show that they turn on in the middle. |

John Maeda blogs on simplicity (Dec 23 2004 20:47 GMT) - Not everyday one of your personal heroes decides to start blogging. John Maeda, the legendary designer who explored like no one before him the artistic possibilities of computer code and spawned a whole generation of great digital artists through his work at MIT's Computation and Aesthetics group, has just opened a blog about simplicity, one of his current projects. Although it may seem so, this is definitely not offtopic on Smart Mobs. In order to understand the effects of complexity and emergence, a common topic here, it could make sense considering also the opposite phenomenon: I began this trek towards SIMPLICITY based upon a simple whim. |

Sunset and Labrea (Dec 23 2004 20:47 GMT) - Richard Chamberlain's Sunset and Labrea is back in Tinderbox, having wandered through Textpattern, Wordpress, and Filemaker. "One thing which is astonishingly good about Tinderbox is that you have the ability to structure things exactly how you would want to structure them .... It's also a good time to mention how good support is at Eastgate Systems, who are the developers of Tinderbox. During my rebuild I had a few questions all of which got answered within twelve hours, and one within ten minutes. Considering we live in different time zones that is very impressive. |
