Free Citizenship (Dec 23 2004 23:46 GMT) - We have free speech, free enterprise, and free trade. Why not free citizenship? A free citizen is a man or woman who is not coerced by the government or by fellow citizens to follow the path of a specific individual, the philosophy of a given group or the religious dictates of any faith. A free citizen is free to follow his or her own conscience, philosophy, religion or non-religion, while obeying the laws of the land. Free citizenship is what the Democratic Party should advance.... |

A twisty trip through my mind (Dec 23 2004 23:45 GMT) - [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service] - Amazingly, no one flamed me for the essay below. While driving today (lots of pics, coming sooon) I kind of regretted posting it. I imagined people who would call me a Scrooge. Then I realized how unfair the whole idea of Scrooge is. |

Yo Apple, make this happen (Dec 23 2004 23:45 GMT) - [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service] - Now that I have a phone that takes some impressive photos (This shot is probably the best example I've seen for color, depth, and light that the little cam can capture), I really wish iPhoto could manage my images instead of my preview-free bluetooth file browser. ... I bet it'd be trivial for Apple to enable connections via Bluetooth (to your paired devices) to import photos. |

Caravanning (by: rfdald) (Dec 23 2004 23:44 GMT) - Ran across a message from someone in one of the RV chat forums asking if any ot the clubs caravanned. It was an excellent question, and worthy of a response, but I was unable to do so at the moment, and could not relocate the chatroom or message. While some of the Nationals have periodic caravan excursions, we've belonged to two locals, one of which was a national chapter, and neither organized caravans. Destination rendezvous yes, but not caravans to the destinations other than those arranged quietly and independently between club members. The format we found in both locals was monthly membership meetings, the selection of destination sites, and the appointment of "volunteer" members to organize and host those gatherings. |
