A Metaphor Gone Metastatic
|
Day: trips and presents (Dec 23 2004 23:38 GMT) - I'm going over to V's for a snack before writing group (I haven't actually eaten anything but random snacks since breakfast), so I'll be leaving shortly. Sis's workplace chipped in and got a boatload of gifts for the LF this year (since the money Mommy would have spent on him wound up fixing the car when it got its ignition mashed) so those are currently hiding on the top bunk of my bed, with one of my privacy curtains covering the lot. shammash discovered it, and decided to go and hide there like a tabby elf. Since he does chew paper, he was shooed out with little ceremony. I didn't get a photo. |

At the end of that post, I whined that I wanted something similar for PHP/MySQL. Well... PHPRunner creates set of PHP pages to access and modify any local or remote MySQL database. |

Congo-Kinshasa: Rape in Ituri: Kpandroma Under a Law of Silence (Dec 23 2004 23:36 GMT) - With precise figures unavailable, the Kpandroma region, in Ituri's Djugu territory, seems to hold a sad record of sexual violence - a situation worsened by the splintering of unruly militias, which have evolved into banditry from their original civil defence role. This violence flourishes thanks to the silence of a population traumatised by years of fighting - a silence only broken by the rare few who dare to step forward and talk to MONUC. |
