- Nurses from University Medical Center (UMC) were on strike today. The one day strike was called by nurses who are members of the California Nurses Association (CNA) to pressure management to bargain in good faith. The company is offering a 2% salary increase and the nurses want at least 5%. A standardized pay scale and an improved pension plan are also being sought by striking workers. |

Hot Darn (Dec 24 2004 21:54 GMT) - Way back when hubby and I first met, we spent a lot of time on IRC with a group of people from the newsgroup where we met. All of us had a lot of fun with sharing wav files and other fun stuff. One wav file I've always been dying to find out more about was a beautiful celtic inspired piece of music, but none of us have been able to locate it. Today I was looking through some mp3 newsgroups and downloaded a celtic inspired christmas album. Guess what, the very first song I played was the full version of that wav file. |
